What Is Gun Control
Gun control is the laws or rules that control the manufacture (marking), sale, transfer, possession (who has them) and use of firearms. Each state has their own set of gun control laws. The federal government also has established some acts to prevent gun violence while still upholding the Second Amendment of the Constitution, which declares that the people have the right to bear arms. Some of these Acts include:
-The National Firearms Act (NFA): Limits the sale or ownership of short barreled shotguns, machine guns and silencers.
-Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act: Restricts who can purchase guns and does not allow people who have committed crimes, have a history of domestic abuse, or are addicted to drugs to own guns.
